Xylora Studios enforces strict legal and regulatory safeguards when delivering creative or technical work for youth-oriented brands or projects involving minors. All commercial contracts must be signed by an individual aged 18 or older, and all campaign collateral must comply fully with UK advertising and data privacy codes before deployment.
Contracting and legal capacity
Under UK law, minors cannot enter into binding commercial service agreements. If a brand, platform, or project is founded or fronted by an individual under the age of 18, the commercial relationship must be established through an authorised parent, legal guardian, or a registered corporate entity represented by an adult director.
Operations & Client Services handles all contract verification during the onboarding stage. The adult signatory assumes total contractual and financial responsibility for the account, including the approval of scopes, release of stage payments, and legal liability for submitted assets.
If you were referred to the studio by an existing partner, your referral discount of 10% to 30% will be validated at this contracting stage and confirmed in writing on your bespoke quote. The referring party receives their commission via our ambassador programme once the initial deposit clears.
Safeguarding, advertising standards, and digital privacy
Youth-oriented projects carry specific legal obligations regarding advertising ethics, data protection, and digital safety. Projects handled by our Creative and Technology departments undergo mandatory compliance checks:
1. Advertising standards: Creative collateral targeting children must adhere strictly to the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code). Assets must not exploit credulity, encourage dangerous behaviour, or present harmful social pressure. 2. Digital design and privacy: Technical builds—including websites, applications, and interactive portals—must satisfy the requirements of the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Technology department will not implement intrusive tracking, behavioural profiling, or frictionless payment loops on youth-directed platforms. 3. Licensing and talent: Any creative production using voice actors, models, or brand ambassadors under the age of 18 requires full parental consent forms and, where relevant, local education authority performance licences.
What the client must supply
Before the studio schedules creative or technical production, the client must supply the following documentation:
* Proof of legal authority: Photo identification and proof of address for the adult contracting on behalf of the youth brand. * Safeguarding declarations: Written confirmation that all user-generated content plans or community spaces possess active moderation policies. * Consent records: Signed parental or guardian release forms for any minor whose voice, likeness, or intellectual property features in provided assets. * Target audience age bracket: The defined demographic band (for example, under 13s, 13–15, or 16–17) to allow our teams to set appropriate data handling parameters.
Production workflow and review stages
Work follows a sequential path to prevent non-compliant materials from advancing to publication:
1. Intake and verification: Operations & Client Services receives the project brief and reviews age-gating requirements within 24 hours. Bespoke quotes for youth projects are issued within 48 hours of receiving complete brief details. 2. Compliance scoping: Creative or Technology leads review the scope against applicable standards (such as CAP guidelines or data minimisation mandates). 3. Asset generation: The studio drafts assets according to the agreed brief, strictly within working hours (Monday to Thursday, 09:00–17:00 GMT). 4. Sign-off: The adult signatory inspects all draft outputs in staging environments before public launch.
Failure cases and project freezes
If safeguarding or identity issues emerge during an active project, production halts immediately:
* Unverified signatories: If it is discovered that contracts were entered into without valid adult execution, work stops until an adult guarantor signs a novation agreement. * Missing child talent documentation: Creative assets will not be delivered or published without documented parental consent. Omitting these files stalls delivery. * Data privacy violations: The Technology department will decline to configure data capture forms that collect personal identifiable information from minors without verifiable parental consent mechanisms.
Deposits are non-refundable once your production slot is held. Before work begins, sums not yet earned are refunded pro rata; after work begins, completed work and booked time are charged. Defects are fixed free of charge within the acceptance window. The full terms are on the Refund Policy page of the main site. Any exceptions remain at the studio's sole discretion. If a project is cancelled due to an unrectified compliance failure on the client's side, accrued costs are not returned.
