WHAT WE MEAN BY "DONE"

deliverydefinition

A definition of done that is checkable, not a feeling.

The checklist

  • Every deliverable in the register exists in the agreed formats
  • Source files are organised and named to the agreed convention
  • A handover note explains structure, fonts, and any dependency
  • Known limitations are written down rather than left to be discovered

What "done" does not mean

That nothing will ever change. Work has a lifespan; done means the agreed scope is complete and handed over cleanly.

Sign-off

Done is confirmed by the decision owner. After sign-off, further work is a new booking rather than a continuation.

The handover note

Read it. It answers most of the questions that arrive two months later.

Was this helpful?

Tell us honestly. It is read by the people who write these pages.

If this didn't answer your question, ask Xylo.
